Community Supported Agriculture
We've technically offered CSA shares for years, and many of you have been "regulars" getting freezer and mini packs since we first started out. But we've never really taken advantage of the true power of a CSA, gathering a group of loyal clients who step up and join in the fruits (and risks!) of a land-based enterprise. CSAs have the potential to be so much more fun...
So we're going to try out a new, more "standard" CSA program while still maintaining our former share program. This program will be composed of 4 seasons of 10 weeks each (people can opt in/out for any of these seasons). A $250 or $100 up-front membership will buy you 10 weeks of a changing selection of meats picked up weekly at the market of your choice. We'll post on the board a "menu" of options that will include stuff from our market trailer: beef (steaks, roasts, ground, etc.), chicken, lamb, eggs (if we ever get THAT sorted out!), jerky, etc. It will vary from week to week, but will always be a good deal for you. As a bonus, the amount of product you get will always be more than the $25 equivalent you've provided up front (consider it interest or a thank-you). Each season runs for 10 weeks:
Winter (Jan-Mar)
Spring (Apr-Jun)
Summer (Jul-Sep)
Fall (Oct-Dec)
$250 Full Membership: buys you roughly $30 a week in meats for 10 weeks ($50 savings) and lets you pick from our Option Board. Amount varies from 3-7 lbs depending on option you choose.
$100 Half Membership: buys you $10 a week for the season. Built for singles and low-consumption families (bless your hearts).
We also allow people to join in at any point in the season, pro-rating the weeks accordingly.
